Hello everyone,

I thank you for your patience up to this point.

Since this morning, our tournament committee has been under the direction & advice of various health & hockey agencies. We were advised that it was business as usual in the minor hockey world unless other events unfolded.

It seems like things have taken a turn late this afternoon.

At a news conference this afternoon, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry held a news conference. Some key points were:
* discouraging “all non-essential travel” outside of Canada
* event organizers are being told to cancel all gatherings of 250 people or more

We thought that perhaps we could scale back the tournament to meet these requirements, such as cancelling a few divisions.

However, we have received official word that Hockey Canada is suspending all minor hockey events for the entire country. That includes any games, practices, provincial championships, and tournaments.

I want to thank everyone for their perseverance, as we had best intentions not to jump the gun and cancel if not necessary. It seems like this pandemic has ramped up very quickly.

I truly apologize to the many teams that will be disappointed , especially those who have already traveled many miles.

I am truly sorry but at this point it is beyond our control. Unfortunately at this point, we have no choice but to cancel.

At this time, I can only offer my sincere apologies. Thank you for understanding,
