Congratulations to the following award winners:

ROOKIE REF OF THE YEAR – CAITLIN MANNERS
She showed a great interest this year in refereeing, she was always asking questions and always wanting to get better as a referee.
She was a quick learner and ask questions about positioning and procedures.
Her referee mentors had nothing but good things to say about her.
She seemed to enjoy reffing and was always eager to push herself

MOST IMPROVED REF OF THE YEAR – SARAH WEBSTER
This was her second year refereeing, she was always asking questions and wanting feedback about her officiating.
She really showed an interest in wanting to improve and pushed herself to get better.
She improved tremendously over this season as an official and has lots of potential as an official in the future.

REFEREE OF THE YEAR – CARALYN WITTAL
Caralyn has been refereeing for Tri Cities for a number of years.
I have watched her grow and learn as an official and become one of the best officials in our association today. She is a great mentor for the younger officials and someone they can look up to. She helped the younger officials when she was shadowing.
She is always pushing herself and wanting to improve as an official. Every year season she keeps improving as an official.
She started lining Midget A this season and the feedback I received about her was comments like “one of the best linesmen I have had” and “she has tremendous talent and skills as an official”.
I hope to see her move to the high performance program in the next few seasons. She has a bright future as a referee.
