Getting Started
The Tri-Cities Female Ice Hockey Association (TCFIHA) is a non-profit organization that provides girls and young women ages 5 to 21 with the opportunity to play hockey in a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Female hockey provides athletes with the opportunity to develop skills, confidence, leadership, and lifelong friendships in an environment designed specifically for girls and young women.
Female players living in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra, and New Westminster are welcome to register.
Players can begin as early as U7 (ages 5-6), and we offer programs designed specifically for beginners.

Programs and Team Placement
House hockey focuses on skill development, fun, and participation, while Rep hockey offers a higher level of competition, additional development opportunities, and increased travel commitments.
Players participate in evaluations or tryouts at the start of the season. Independent evaluators are used where appropriate to help ensure a fair process.
House teams receive at least two ice times per week, while Rep teams generally receive three or ice times per week and additional development and dryland training may be required.
At younger divisions, development and participation are prioritized. Playing time expectations may vary at competitive levels.
Yes. We provide dedicated free goalie development opportunities throughout the season and offer reduced registration fees for full-time goalies.
Season and Travel
The regular season generally runs from September through March.
Teams compete within the PCAHA and may travel throughout the Lower Mainland. Rep teams typically travel more frequently than House teams.
Most teams participate in one or more tournaments during the season.
Volunteers and Community
Yes. TCFIHA is a volunteer-driven organization. Families are expected to contribute to association, team, and tournament volunteer activities.
Volunteer support helps keep costs affordable while allowing us to provide tournaments, events, development programs, and a positive hockey experience for all players.
Parents can become coaches, managers, safety personnel, committee members, event volunteers, or board members.
