Each season, we take a moment to recognize the incredible individuals who go above and beyond to make our association stronger—both on and off the ice.

We’re proud to honour four outstanding members of our hockey community for their dedication, leadership, and lasting impact this season. Thank you to all our nominees—and congratulations to this year’s winners!

Coach of the Year – Ian Brown

“His dedication, kindness, and approach to coaching our girls provided them all with a safe, inclusive space to grow and develop both on and off the ice. He was a driving, supportive force in our team’s success.”

“Ian did an incredible job keeping our girls motivated, happy, and driven from the first tournament in October to the final home tournament. He was able to carefully create a competitive environment while ensuring the girls still had a lot of fun. The practice plans were well thought out to help grow the girls throughout the year.”

** Ian wanted to acknowledge his coaching staff: Graham Hurlburt, Hari Minhas & Stefan Sigalet. Ian feels this award is a reflection of the entire coaching staff’s hard work and commitment throughout the season. **

Manager of the Year – Damian Stanley

Damian was an outstanding Manager for our U11C1 female Predators! He was so organized & the girls & their parents were kept up to date re-all games & events. He promoted a terrific atmosphere of respect & caring amongst the team & their families & was very approachable to all. We were very fortunate to have Damian as our Manager!”

“Can’t say enough about Damian. He had it dialed in from finding competitive tournaments, creating itineraries, team bonding, TeamSnap and fundraising. Honestly have not had a better manager.”

Thank you, Damian, for creating a positive, organized, and welcoming environment for the team and families. Your leadership behind the scenes helped make this season a success!

Volunteer of the Year – Andy Wong

“Andy used his passion for photography to capture so many moments of this season. He was at every ice time and literally broke a sweat in his efforts to celebrate our players. He also served as our safety person, and could be counted on not only to address injuries, but also follow up with caring.”

“Andy was the hardest working parent on our team. He filmed and photographed all of our games, as well as many practices and events, and shared all the digital links with our team. He also made yearbooks for each player to sign and keep, and he was an attentive and thorough safety person all season long.”

Andy—your work behind the scenes didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you’ve done to support the players, coaches, and families this season!

Athlete Volunteer of the Year – Danyca Henry

“All the girls looked up to her.”
“She was there to be a role model for the girls.”

Danyca commitment to helping with a younger team reminds us all of the power of giving back and the importance of strong female role models in sport!
