Request Ice

Available Ice can be viewed on the published Weekly Ice Schedule

Please note that any ice posted will not be assigned to a team until after if has been made available for 1 FULL calendar day.

For example, ice that is posted at any point on a Monday will not be assigned until some point on Wednesday, giving all teams an opportunity to request the ice on Monday or Tuesday.

All requests received on the day that it was posted and the full day following it will be reviewed and the ice will be awarded based on the team's waiver priority ranking.

Once the ice is awarded to a team, that team's waiver priority drops to the bottom of the list.

If you are making a request for ice that is scheduled within the next 7 days and it is marked as "available", that ice is free of charge and does not count towards your number of allotted ice sheets for the season.

If you are making a request for ice that is more than 7 days away then there will be a charge for that ice if it puts you above your number of allotted ice sheets for the season.

If you are making a request for ice that says we can request it on your behalf then your team will also be charged for that ice if it puts you above your number of allotted ice sheets for the season.

The ice allocator will contact you directly if your request for available ice was successful.

Return Ice

Please note that any ice returned with 14 days or less notice will not be replaced.

Game and practice ice returned with more than 14 days notice (and with a reason deemed sufficient by the Executive Committee) will be added to our "Lost Ice" tab and the association will do its best best to replace it with another ice sheet. Please note that replaced ice may not be for the exact same amount of time that was returned.

ICE GUIDELINES

TCFIHA strives to provide fair and equitable ice allocation for all teams throughout the season. As league schedules, tournaments, and facility availability change, ice schedules may be adjusted.

Ice Schedule

The official TCFIHA ice schedule is available on the website and updated regularly.
Team Managers and Coaches are responsible for checking the schedule frequently.
PCAHA game schedules always take priority over the TCFIHA ice schedule.

Returning Ice

If your team cannot use an assigned ice time:

Submit an Ice Return Form as soon as possible.
A minimum of two weeks' notice is required to be eligible for a refund or reallocation.
Returning ice early allows other TCFIHA teams to use it.

Open Ice

Open ice is posted on the website as it becomes available.

Requests are processed using the online Open Ice Request Form.
Teams will be notified when new ice becomes available.

League Games & Ice Conflicts

League, balancing, placement, and playoff games take priority over all other ice activities.

If a scheduling conflict occurs:

Contact your League Manager and copy the TCFIHA Ice Allocator on all correspondence.
Do not make schedule changes without the Ice Allocator's involvement.
Never assume unassigned ice is available until it has been confirmed.

Replacement Ice

When a practice is cancelled due to a league game or tournament, TCFIHA will make every effort to provide replacement ice.

Replacement ice will be scheduled based on availability and may not be on your team's regular practice day.

Extra Ice

Teams wishing to purchase additional practice ice may request it through the Ice Allocator.

Extra ice is team-funded and subject to availability. Privately purchased ice must be used by the requesting TCFIHA team and cannot be sublet.

Tournament Ice

Teams attending tournaments should return any unused ice as soon as possible. For tournaments outside the Lower Mainland, all required PCAHA approvals must be obtained before travel.
